POLS 3200 - The Politics of Development Depth Social Sciences, Communications Intensive DSS, CI 3 credits
This course examines why some countries are rich while others are poor. It surveys theories of development before analyzing the intersection of politics and socio-economic factors as determinants of poverty and economic growth using Asian, African and Latin American examples.
