VM 7519 - Veterinary Physiology I

4 credits

This is the first semester of a two-semester medical physiology sequence.  The first part of the course will focus on basic mechanisms of cell physiology with an emphasis on control of gene expression and signalling. Students will also learn about: cellular transport; generation of ion gradients and membrane potentials; electrical signalling by neurons; the role of proteins as enzymes, receptors and structural components; and how cells communicate.
