NURS 1010 - Introduction to Nursing

2 credits

This course presents an introduction into nursing practice. It includes nursing student responsibilities, holistic care of self and clients, study skills, nursing history, spiritual and cultural needs of clients, medical terminology, ethical and legal responsibilities, and the health care delivery system.  Therapeutic communication techniques and basic elements of nursing process will be introduced. Developmental needs of the older adult are explored. 

Prerequisite/Restriction: CHEM 1110 , CHEM 1115 , and MATH 1050
