The Utah Conservation Corps (UCC) is an organization dedicated to improving public lands and the communities surrounding them through partnership projects, service, and education. The UCC offers natural resource conservation and environmental education AmeriCorps positions to USU students. These AmeriCorps positions also combine the following courses through the USU Department of Environment and Society as part of the term of service:

ENVS 5820 , Field Studies in Environmental Conservation and Sustainability (3 credits), gives Utah Conservation Corps members the opportunity to explore land management issues and sustainability while engaging in service.

, Foundations of Environmental Education (3 credits), gives students a foundational knowledge of environmental education and teaches them how to incorporate quality environmental education (EE) into their instruction. Students explore the history and goals of EE, develop an understanding of the professional roles and instructional methods of environmental educators, and interact with other educators from across the state. Successful completion of this course fulfills the requirements for the provisional Utah Environmental Education Certification.

ENVS 6620 , Environmental Education Practicum (4 credits), is a hands-on course that gives environmental educators the opportunity to develop and improve EE programs. As part of the course, students will develop evaluation tools and apply them to the program. Prerequisite: ENVS 6610.
