GEOG 4140 - Violent Environments: Linking Ecology and Conflict in Sub-Saharan Africa

Examines the relationship between violent conflict and natural resources, with particular attention given to human rights and political ecology perspectives. Through specific cases, conflict resources are explored, along with the threat they pose to national, regional, and global security. Also includes discussion of the diverse actors that profit from the persistence of conflict and civil unrest.
