NDFS 6210 - Advanced Public Health Nutrition 3 credits
Effects of diet on development and prevention of disease. Conditions of public health significance, including birth defects, coronary heart disease, hypertension, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease and other causes of dementia, cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes, and international health problems. Discussion of health concerns of minority populations, cross-cultural studies, government policy, and establishment of dietary recommendations.
Prerequisite/Restriction: STAT 1040 , STAT 1045 , or higher STAT class, and CHEM 1120 or higher
