Students learn vibration of single and multiple degrees of freedom; discrete mass systems; natural frequencies and mode shapes for free, damped, and undamped systems; forcing functions and transient responses; matrix methods, numerical solution, and random vibrations; and applications and design.

Prerequisite(s): ENGR 2030 ENGR 2140 MATH 2250  or both MATH 2270  and MATH 2280
