This course is a study of deductive arguments and techniques for evaluating their validity, including construction of proofs. Students learn to recognize formal fallacies in reasoning and symbolize English sentences and arguments to make their meanings precise. Topics also include propositional logic and a study of quantifiers and relations.

Prerequisite(s): Must have one of the following:

MATH 1030 , MATH 1050 or higher mathematics class
AP Calculus AB score of 3 or higher
STAT 1040 or STAT 1045 or STAT 1080 , or higher statistics class
