STAT 1080 - Foundations of Data Science (QL) QL Quantitative Literacy 3 credit(s)
Students learn how to tell the stories of data through visuals and other statistical summaries using basic computer programming. Computer programming is used to introduce concepts of probability, random variables, hypothesis testing and prediction. No previous programming experience is required.
Prerequisite(s): One of the following within the last two years or six consecutive semesters (including summers):
- ACT Math exam with a score of 19 or higher, or equivalent SAT Math score
- Sufficient score on AP Exam equivalent to MATH 105 or higher
- MATH 995 with a grade of C- or better in the chosen option (a passing grade of P is acceptable)
- MATH 1050 or MATH 1100 with a grade of C- or better in the chosen option (a passing grade of P is acceptable)
- Satisfactory score on the ALEKS Math Placement Exam
Repeatable for credit: No Grade Mode: Standard
