Theatre Production Minor

Caine College of the Arts

Department of Theatre Arts

(21 credits) (2.75 GPA)

Note: Transcripts will list this minor as Theatre Arts Minor.

The Theatre Production Minor is available to all students. Students must interview with a member of the BFA Design Committee and submit a resume and/or production history of their theatre work to date. Coursework will be selected in consultation with student’s minor advisor. Progress will be reviewed on an annual basis.

Minimum Grade Accepted: C in courses required for the minor. Must have an overall minimum grade of B- in minor for graduation.

Required Theatre Courses (12 credits)

THEA 1033 - Beginning Acting 3
THEA 1513 - Stagecraft 3
THEA 1713 - Introduction to Playscript Analysis 3
THEA 2203 - Costume Crafts 3
THEA 2555 - Production Practicum 1 (3 credits required) or
THEA 2556 - Production Run Crew 1 (3 credits required) or
THEA 4750 - Advanced Production Practicum 1-3 (3 credits required) or
THEA 4850 - Advanced Production Projects 1-3 (3 credits required)

Elective Production Courses (9 credits)

Complete three or more classes from the BFA Theatre Design and Technology Emphasis (TDE) course of study, to be determined in consultation with Theatre Arts advisor.

Theatre Arts Departmental Requirements

· Attend ALL department productions unless involved in the production. (Ticket stubs should be signed and submitted to the office following each production.)

· Usher at each department production unless involved in the production (Students take completion slips to be signed by the House Manager. Completion slips ar submitted to the office following the close of the production.)

· Attend all production strikes.

Note: When involved in a productions, participation slips are submitted by the Stage Manager for that production in place of ticket stubs or usher slips.
