Objectives
The online Master of Public Health (MPH) with an emphasis in Health Education and Promotion (HEP) at Utah State University equips students with the foundational competencies necessary for the practice of public health, including focused training in health education and promotion. The HEP MPH program, fully accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health in Fall of 2022, effectively trains students to be leaders in the field of public health by advancing education, research, practice, and advocacy. MPH graduates are well prepared for careers in health care settings, academic institutions, local, state, and federal health agencies, private industry, worksite wellness, and non-profit organizations. Students receive training in program planning and evaluation, social determinates of health, health communication, quantitative and qualitative public health methods, health behavior, health policy, leadership, and global health. Students also complete integrative, interprofessional, and applied learning experiences outside of the classroom to demonstrate mastery of public health competencies. The fully online HEP MPH is available on a part-time or full-time basis.
