Program Requirements
A grade of C- or better is required in all mathematics and statistics courses. Program coursework may not be taken on a pass/fail basis.

Mathematics Major Requirements
Elective Courses (6 credits)
Select 6 credits of Math Electives from the following courses: Additional Electives (9 credits)
Select 9 credits from Statistics (STAT) courses numbered 5000 and above or Mathematics (MATH) courses numbered 5000 and above, excluding MATH 5010 , MATH 5020 , MATH 5570 , and MATH 5580 .
Capstone Experience
The capstone experience is a 3-credit requirement for all Mathematics and Statistics majors. The capstone may be satisfied in several ways, including, but not limited to, completing an internship and a reflective essay, participating in a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU), or completing MATH/STAT 5810. Other means of satisfying the requirement may be developed on an individual basis between the student and their faculty advisor.
