Arabic Studies - Minor

Arabic Studies Minor Requirements (18-20 credits)

• Total credits for Asian Studies Minor: 18-20
• Grade Point Average to Declare Major: 2.5 Overall GPA
• Grade Point Average to Graduate with Minor: 2.5 GPA within minor coursework
• USU Credit Requirement: At least half (50 percent) of the credits earned for this minor must be earned at USU.
• Minimum Grade Requirement: All courses taken for the minor require a minimum grade of C- or better. Courses for the minor may not be taken on a pass/fail basis.

Note:

As many as 9-10 credits completed at other colleges or universities may be used to partially satisfy these requirements. For more information, students should contact the LPCS advisor. Students must earn an overall GPA of at least 2.5 in all classes applied toward the minor.

• 2. Students must complete 9 credits of Arabic culture, linguistics and religion credits selected from the following courses:

• ARBC 3800 - Study Abroad in Jordan 3 credit(s)
• ARBC 4040 - Language and Culture of the Arab World (DHA) 3 credit(s)
• LING 3100 - Language in Social Context 3 credit(s)
• LING 3200 - Introduction to Linguistics (DSS) 3 credit(s)

Elective Course (3 credits)

Students must complete 3 hours of interdisciplinary coursework related to the minor and chosen from the following courses:
