Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services

Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation Counseling

The Disability Studies minor offers an opportunity to develop knowledge, skills, and perspective to deal with disability issues in future careers. Nearly every student who graduates from Utah State University will deal with disability issues in their future employment, fields of study, and communities. One in five U.S. citizens deals with the limitations of disability in their everyday lives. Participating students will be better prepared to address the complex social, economic, political, and scientific issues affecting the disability community.

Students are required to have a 3.0 (B) or better GPA on all minor coursework with a minimum grade of C in an individual course accepted for the minor. Courses may not be taken for a pass/fail grade, unless the course is only taught on a pass/fail basis.
