Department of Art and Design

Utah State University (USU) Associate of Arts degree in Art for its Eastern campus requires a minimum of 60 total credits, with 13 credits of required Art courses, 6 credits of Art History courses, 12 credits of elective Art courses, and 21 required General Education credits, and meeting the foreign language requirement for the Associate of Arts.

An Associate of Arts degree in Art will allow Utah State University Eastern (USUE) students interested in art a practical credential for their coursework. Students will follow the current USU Department of Art and Design core curriculum, completing this degree track in a two-year time span. The USU Associate of Arts degree in Art aims to give students the technical and academic knowledge and transferable skills they need to go on to employment or as a stackable credential for further study in a BS, BA, or BFA program.

  • The Utah State University Associate of Arts degree in Art requires a minimum of 60 total credits:
    • 13 credits of required Art courses
    • 6 credits of Art History courses
    • 12 credits of elective Art courses
    • 21 required General Education credits
    • Associate of Arts foreign language requirement
  • All courses taken to satisfy the requirements for the Utah State University Associate of Arts degree in Art must be taken for a letter grade and must be passed with a grade of C- or better.
  • To remain in good standing and graduate with an Associate of Arts degree in Art, a student must maintain a minimum overall grade point average of 2.0, and a GPA of 2.75 in Art and Art History courses.
