About This Degree
The BA degree is a general art degree for the student who is not interested in specializing in one area of art. Students who desire to receive a BA degree in Art must meet the university language requirements and must earn a minimum of 50 semester credits in Art, leaving approximately 54 credits to fulfill all other General Education and University Studies requirements. This degree does not fulfill the requirements for entrance into the graduate schools of art.

- The highest math requirement for this degree is the fulfillment of the Quantitative Literacy (QL) requirement.

Admission Requirements For This Program
- New freshmen must be admitted to USU in Good Standing as Pre-Art or Pre-ID.
- Transfer students from other institutions or other programs at USU are admitted with a 2.75 GPA. Students must also pass a competitive portfolio review. Space is limited.

Additional Requirements
A cumulative GPA of 2.75 is required for the BA degree. A grade of B- or better is required in all art (ART) and art history (ARTH) classes. Major requirements may not be taken on a pass/fail basis, except ART 2700 .
