A minor in Geology is available to allow students to learn some of the important principles and concepts of geology without having to earn a bachelor’s in it. Courses for the minor may not be taken on a pass/fail basis and must be completed with a grade of C- or better.

Requirements

Choose 1 of the following four courses:

GEO 1060 - Introduction to Environmental Geoscience (BPS) 3 credit(s) or
GEO 1010 - Introduction to Geology (BPS) 3 credit(s) or
GEO 1110 - Physical Geology (BPS) 3 credit(s) or (is preferred)
GEO 1360 - Planet Earth (BPS) 3 credit(s)
GEO 1115 - Physical Geology Laboratory 1 credit(s)
GEO 2200 - The Earth Through Time 3 credit(s)
GEO 2205 - Earth Through Time Laboratory 1 credit(s)

Elective Courses (10 credits)

GEO 2800 - Minerals and Rocks 4 credit(s)
must choose from Geology courses at the 3400 level or above
