Students wishing to declare a minor in Journalism must have a minimum 2.5 Overall GPA and a minimum 2.5 USU GPA as well.

Journalism Minor Requirements: (18 credits) with 2.5 GPA in minor classes
- JCOM 1500: Introduction to Mass Communication (BSS) ; 3 credits (F, Sp)
- JCOM 1130: Media Writing ; 3 credits (F, Sp) Prereqs: Fulfillment of CL1 (ENGL 1010, ACT 29 or AP ENGL) and 80% or better on grammar test administered by JCOM Department.
- JCOM Elective; 3 credits
- JCOM Upper-Division Electives; 9 credits
