This minor prepares students to complete the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Commercial Drone Pilot certification. Students develop a working knowledge of design, maintenance, control of unmanned aircraft systems and learn how small UAS skills can enhance other majors and careers. A minimum grade of C- is required for minor courses. To declare the minor a student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. This minor requires 12 credits.

Required Courses (6-7 credits)

Ideally, students will register for UAS 1010 and UAS 1020 in the same semester. After completion, register for UAS 2050 . Only students with FAA Part 61 Exam are eligible to register for UAS 3020 .

UAS 1010 - Unmanned Aircraft Systems - Remote Pilot 3 credit(s) and
UAS 1020 - Unmanned Aircraft Systems Part 107 Test 1 credit(s) or
UAS 3020 - Part 61 Introduction to Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Flight Lab 3 credit(s) Only students who have been issued an FAA Part 61 Pilot Certificate are eligible to register for this course
UAS 2050 - Unmanned Aircraft Systems Pilot in Command 3 credit(s)
