About This Degree

The Management major enables students to acquire a foundation of key concepts and skills that are applicable to both business and non-business organizations, coupled with the technical skills needed to support particular career paths.

Emphasis Options
Healthcare Management:
The Healthcare Management emphasis prepares students for careers in a rapidly growing sector of the economy that is already worth more than $1 trillion.

Human Resource Management:
This emphasis develops students who understand human behavior in organizations and how people assets can be leveraged to create value for the individual and the organization.

Hotel Management:
The Hotel Management emphasis prepares students for careers in an industry which accounts for more than $200 billion of the U.S. economy.

Wealth Management:
The Wealth Management emphasis prepares students for careers in financial and retirement planning.

Operations and Supply Chain Management:
This emphasis prepares students with interests in process improvement and how to manage supply chains

Admission Requirements For This Program


First-Year and Transfer Students are admitted to the Huntsman School of Business based on USU’s Admission Requirements.  

Current USU Students in good standing qualify for admission into a Huntsman School major.

Additional Information


Students must complete the General Education Requirements

  • ECN 1500  will fulfill the American Institutions requirement.
  • ECN 2010  will fulfill the Breadth Social Sciences requirement.
  • For Huntsman School of Business students, courses taken for their major may fulfill the Integrated Studies requirement.

Students must also complete the University Studies Depth Requirements

  • Elective credits needed will be determined on an individual basis (a student with continuing education, AP credits, and language credits may not require additional elective credits).
  • Completing a minor is recommended to fulfill elective credits.
  • A complete list of requirements can be found on the requirements sheet at huntsman.usu.edu/undergraduate/majors/management-major.
  • Students are encouraged to enhance their education experience through use of the Roadmap to Graduation and Student Success found at https://huntsman.usu.edu/advising/road_map.
  • MGT 4250 - Management Internship  is recommended between the student’s junior and senior years.
  • A 2.5 overall and major GPA are required to be recommended for graduation.

Management Emphasis


Students must complete one emphasis.

Business Acumen (46-47 credits)


All acumen courses must have a minimum grade of C unless otherwise stated.

Open Electives


Total elective credit is determined by General Education courses taken, degree type selected, additional credits earned, and any additional math or other prerequisite courses needed. Please consult your Academic Advisor for details.
