The Small Firm Management Certificate is designed to provide basic skills in accounting, management, law, and economic analysis for individuals wanting to start or better manage a small business. Students can gain additional management expertise and earn the Small Firm Management Minor with a few additional courses.

A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required in certificate coursework, and all courses must be completed with a grade of C- or better. Coursework may not be taken on a pass/fail basis. There are four courses (12 credits) required for this certificate:

APEC 2120 - Small Firm Accounting Basics 3 credit(s)
APEC 2310 - Small Firm Management 3 credit(s)
APEC 2900 - Agricultural and Natural Resource Law 3 credit(s)
APEC 3310 - Analytical Methods in Applied Economics (QI) 3 credit(s) or
APEC 4310 - Agribusiness Finance 3 credit(s)
APEC 2120 , APEC 3310 , and APEC 4310 will be taught in fall semesters and APEC 2310 and APEC 2900 will be taught in spring semesters. APEC 2120 needs to be taken as the first course and both APEC 2120 and APEC 2310 need to be taken prior to APEC 3310 .
