About This Degree

A degree in recreation administration (RAM) is a valuable asset for those interested in pursuing careers in recreation and leisure. Our program will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in the collegiate, professional, and recreational sport industries. In addition to a core set of classes in recreation administration, you’ll have the opportunity to specialize in areas such as event planning, sports marketing, and athlete management. Graduates of the program will be capable of leading, programming, directing, planning, designing, managing, and administering recreation experiences in a variety of settings.

Minimum University Requirements


Admission Requirements For This Program


  • New freshmen: Admitted to USU in Good Standing
  • Transfer students from other institutions or other programs at USU: 2.0 Overall GPA

Major Requirements


  • Students are required to earn a C or better grade in all required RAM-prefix courses.
  • Pass/Fail grading is not allowed for required major courses, excluding RAM 2250 .
  • A 2.0 overall GPA and a 2.5 major coursework GPA is required for graduation.
