The Social Media Institutional Certificate of Proficiency program will enhance job prospects for students interested in online political communication, crisis communication, sales and marketing, and health communication.

This program will teach them how to create engaging content and analyze how the content is performing.

Core Courses (12 credits)

JCOM 2400 must be taken and successfully passed with a minimum grade of “C” before taking the other courses for the certificate. 
JCOM 4040 , JCOM 5400 , and either JCOM 5040 or JCOM 6060 must be taken during the same or subsequent semesters. 
Students must be advised by the JCOM adviser before registering for the certificate program and before registering for courses.  
A formal admission process to the certificate program will be adopted by faculty vote.
