S.J. and Jessie E. Quinney College of Natural Resources
Department of Environment and Society
Geography is the study of space, place, and the relationships between people and our environment. With studies in geography, students learn essential skills to solve pressing problems at the local, national, and global scale. Geography is an interdisciplinary field that includes coursework in the physical and social sciences, combined with technical expertise in the field of geographic information science.
A teaching minor in Geography requires an approved teaching major in another subject. All courses required for the Geography Teaching minor must be taken on an A-B-C-D-F basis. A grade of C- or better is required for all GEOG courses taken to meet requirements for the minor. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required for courses taken to complete the minor, but teaching licensure in the State of Utah requires a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Students should make an appointment with an academic advisor in the S.J. and Jessie E. Quinney College of Natural Resources to add this minor: qcnr.usu.edu/advising/.
