The Mathematics Education minor satisfies Utah requirements for the Middle School Mathematics Teaching Endorsement which qualifies educators to teach 6th grade through 9th grade mathematics. (https://schools.utah.gov/curr/mathematics/endorsements).

This program is recommended for future educators who want to add mathematics to another teaching major.

Secondary Teacher Education Program (STEP)

To be licensed to teach in the Utah public secondary school system, completion of the Secondary Teacher Education Program (STEP) for the student’s secondary education major is also required. Admission to the STEP requires an overall GPA of 3.00 and a C or better in all requirements.
