ESL Teaching Endorsement or Minor
The School of Teacher Education and Leadership offers a K-12 English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement and minor. Elementary education majors and those already in possession of a teaching certificate complete 18 credits to obtain the ESL Endorsement (TEAL 4730 or LING 4100 ; TEAL 4710 , TEAL 4745 , TEAL 4760 , TEAL 4770 , and TEAL 4780 ). Those already possessing a teaching certificate take the 6000-level versions of these courses.
The ESL Minor for secondary education students is the above 18 credits, plus an additional clinical course (SCED 3300 or SCED 4300 ; and a student teaching experience.
