Welcome to Utah State University’s Catalog
Welcome to the official catalog of Utah State University (USU). This edition of the catalog supersedes any previously printed or online catalog from the university and is only available online. The catalog is the main source for university policy and procedure and contains crucial information for students on various facets of university operations, however, it does not contain all regulations relating to students. Students will be held accountable to follow the policies contained herein and are not exempted from policies which they did not know existed.
Many departments and programs issue and maintain publications such as program policy manuals and student handbooks. These publications can be very helpful to the student in navigating degree requirements, however, these publications are not statements of official policy and are not binding. In all matters related to university policy, the official catalog will supersede any other electronic or printed publication.
The official catalog also contains specific information and policies relating to a student’s program of study. Students will be expected to complete degree requirements as listed in the catalog that corresponds to the semester in which they declared their major or any subsequent catalog requirements. Students who select a subsequent catalog must complete the requirements of that catalog only. Should a student change his or her major, minor, or any other program of study, the student will be held to the catalog requirements for the term in which the new program was selected and approved.
The university reserves the right to make changes to this catalog at any time deemed necessary without notice to students, faculty, or staff. Changes will become effective whenever university administration determines necessary and changes will be effective and apply to students and university personnel immediately.
