Prerequisites: Approval and Enforcement

Definition

A prerequisite is a course or specific requirement that must be completed prior to enrolling in a specific course or program. All prerequisites must be approved by the Educational Policies Committee (EPC) and are listed in the General Catalog.

Registration and Enrollment

Students may register for a subsequent course while their prerequisite course is still in progress. This conditional registration assumes the student will pass the current course with the required grade.

Enforcement and Drops

Once final grades are posted, the Office of the Registrar will re-evaluate all enrollments. If a student fails to meet the prerequisite requirement:

  1. The student will be dropped from the course.

  2. The student will be notified by the Office of the Registrar regarding this action through their official university email.
