Adding Courses

Standard Registration Period

Students may independently add courses to their schedule up until the end of the first week of class.

Instructor Permission Period

Students may add class(es) until the end of the add/drop deadline, which is 20 percent of the course. After the deadline, instructor permission is required. Students may not register for a course at full capacity without instructor or department permission. Some courses may have a hard capacity limit that may not be changed, even with instructor permission.

Late Add Period

Between the add/drop deadline, which is 20 percent of the course, and last day of the class, registration is only permitted using the Late Add form. This process requires a series of administrative approvals. Undergraduate students must receive approval from the instructor and their Academic Advisor. Graduate students must receive approval from the instructor and their Graduate Program Coordinator or Graduate Faculty Director.
