The KAHS Department offers a program of study leading to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation Administration. The Recreation Administration program offers four tracks that prepare students for future careers in Sport Management, Public Recreation, Outdoor Adventure Leadership, and Program and Event Management. All Recreation Administration Tracks share a core of classes, but also have required and elective classes specific to the content areas. Students must select a track.
Graduates of the program will be capable of leading, programming, directing, planning, designing, managing, and administering recreation experiences in a variety of settings. A 2.5 total GPA is required for graduation.

Recreation Administration Core Courses (46 credits)
Acceptance into major: Students with a 2.5 overall GPA or better are eligible to declare the Recreation Administration major. A grade of C or better is required in all RAM/PRP/HEP courses.
A. Public Recreation Track Required Courses (12 credits)
The Public Recreation track prepares students for managerial positions in public, and non-profit recreation organizations. In addition to a general Recreation Administration Core of classes, students will complete the following required courses for this track. USU RAM Alumni work in a variety of settings including countless municipal recreation organizations, Salt Lake County Recreation, Utah State Parks, Idaho State Parks, the National Parks Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Army Corp of Engineers, and many others.
A. Public Recreation Track Electives (6 credits)
Select at least 6 credits from the following courses:
B. Sport Management Track Required Courses (24 credits)
The Sport Management track prepares students for careers in the collegiate, professional, and recreational sport industries. In addition to a general Recreation Administration Core of classes, students will complete the following required courses for this track. USU RAM Alumni work in a variety of settings including Real Salt Lake, Utah Jazz, Minor League Baseball, USU athletics, community recreational sport organizations, and numerous other sport-related organizations.
B. Sport Management Track Elective Courses (Complete 3 credits)
C. Outdoor Adventure Leadership Track Required Courses (10 credits)
The Outdoor Adventure Leadership track prepares students who want to work in outdoor programs, parks, and public or commercial recreation settings. In addition to a general Recreation Administration Core of classes, students will complete the following required courses for this track. USU RAM Alumni work in a variety of settings including USU Outdoor Programs, Bridgerland Adventure Park, Deer Valley Ski Resort, Outward Bound, NOLS, the National Parks Service, Utah State Parks, and numerous other outdoor recreation-based organizations.
C. Outdoor Adventure Leadership Track Electives (Select 2 credits of PE outdoor skill based classes)
D. Program & Event Management Track Required Courses (12 Credits)
The Program and Event Management track prepares students for managerial positions in commercial, public, and non-profit organizations in the conference, events, and recreation fields. In addition to a general Recreation Administration Core of classes, students will complete the following required courses for this track. USU RAM Alumni work in a variety of settings including USU Event Services, ConferenceDirect, Davis County Event Services, and numerous community recreation agencies around the US.
D. Program & Event Management Track Electives (Select 3 credits)
