The Graduate Certificate in Anticipatory Intelligence is designed to offer graduate students and professionals across multiple fields a sophisticated, cross-disciplinary grasp of the security concerns that are increasingly affecting their own fields and industries as a result of emerging technology and a changing climate. The goal of this certificate program is to provide graduate students and professionals with a sophisticated perspective on traditional national security issues, growing private sector worries, and evolving technological realities in order to prepare them to be strategic thinkers in both the public and private sectors.

This graduate certificate prepares participants to be active voices in their own professions who are able to anticipate emergent security concerns beyond the training and focus of current industry leaders. Participants are equipped to understand the progressively interconnected fate of the public and private sector in national and private security issues and help build resilience against emergent threats or unintended consequences of advancing technology and climate change.

Graduate students and professionals seeking to complete the Graduate Certificate in Anticipatory Intelligence must apply for and be accepted into the program. The application package is available on the program website, cai.usu.edu, and is composed of an application form, resume/CV, letter of intent, and the name and contact information of a reference (a formal letter of recommendation is not required). Professionals accepted into the certificate program will subsequently need to apply to the USU School of Graduate Studies to enroll as a non-degree-seeking USU student. Once matriculated within the program, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours: 9 credits of required courses and at least 3 credits of approved elective courses.
