Program Requirements
- Admission to STEP requires a grade of C or better in all major content courses and requires an overall GPA of 3.0.
- A minimum grade of C or better is required in all major content courses to be recommended for graduation.
- Major requirements may not be taken for a pass/fail grade, except those courses which are taught only on a pass/fail basis.

Students must take 5-6 credits from PHYS 2500 , PHYS 2710 , or any PHYS course 3000 level and above.
Required Courses for the Secondary Teacher Education Program (STEP)
All courses must be passed with a grade of C or better. Pre-STEP admission courses
These courses may be taken prior to admission or with Levels I or II. Level III
No other coursework may be taken in the student teaching semester.

This program typically leads to licensure and was designed to meet licensing qualifications in the state of Utah. If students wish to work in another state within the United States, they should review the qualifications for that state and the Education Licensure Compliance Table provided by School of Teacher Education and Leadership.
