Program Requirements:

This program requires a GPA of 3.0 for admission and a GPA of 3.0 in required major courses. Program requirements may not be taken for a pass/fail grade, except those courses that are only taught pass/fail.

Communications Literacy Requirement


In addition to satisfying the basic Communications Literacy (CL) general education requirement, students in this major must receive a grade of C+ or better in either ENGL 1010  or ENGL 2010 .

Preparation Anchor - ELED


Unless otherwise noted, these courses require a grade of B- or better for Licensure Lane Designation (LLD). Students not receiving these minimum grades may receive General Studies Lane Designation (GSLD).

Assessment, Curriculum, and Instruction Core


A grade of B- or better is required for those courses taken prior to Licensure Lane Designation (LLD) to receive LLD. A grade of B- or better is required for those courses taken after receiving LLD for LLD continuation.

  • Early Master’s Program - Students have the opportunity to begin their Master’s Program as an undergraduate, as early as their Junior year. Students are permitted to take up to 9 credits beyond the 120 required credits for graduation. See advisor for requirements.

This program typically leads to licensure and was designed to meet licensing qualifications in the state of Utah.
