About This Degree

The animal and dairy science degree includes all disciplines of the animal production industry, current scientific applications associated with animal science, and biotechnology associated with the animal science industry.

Students in this program will not only be exposed to multiple disciplines in the classroom but will also have the opportunity for experiential, and applied experiences in the fields of animal nutrition, reproduction and physiology, breeding and genetics, livestock production management, and animal biotechnology.

The animal and dairy science program is also a multi-species focused program in which students have the opportunity to work with beef, dairy cattle, horses, sheep, goats and swine.

  • Transfer students from other institutions or other programs at USU: 2.75 GPA

Program Requirements


  1. Attain a grade point average of at least 2.50 in all ADVS courses specified as requirements in their curricula.
  2. ADVS courses required for the major may be repeated only once to improve a grade.
  3. Courses required for the major may not be taken for a pass/fail grade.
  4. To graduate with this degree, students in Animal and Dairy Science must attain an overall GPA of at least 2.25.
