About This Degree

The Biotechnology degree provides a comprehensive curriculum that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical applications, enabling students to understand the fundamental principles of biotechnology and its diverse applications in various industries.

  • New freshmen: Admitted to USU in Good Standing
  • Transfer students from other institutions or other programs at USU: 2.75 GPA

Program Requirements


  1. Attain a grade point average of at least 2.50 in all ADVS courses specified as requirements in their curricula.
  2. ADVS courses required for the major may be repeated only once to improve a grade.
  3. Courses required for the major may not be taken for a pass/fail grade.
  4. To graduate with this degree, students in Biotechnology must attain an overall GPA of at least 2.25.
