About this Degree
To receive an Ancient Languages and Cultures MA or MS degree, students must demonstrate reading competency in an ancient language by successfully completing six or more hours of graduate coursework in Latin, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, Sanskrit or another approved historical language.
Students planning to continue on for a doctorate should be aware that many doctoral programs in history require that students pass written proficiency exams in two or more languages.
