Program Description:
The Master’s degree in Communication Studies is a face-to-face program focused on understanding communication in various contexts including (but not limited to) interpersonal relationships, health settings, the political sphere, intercultural settings, and social movements. Students will receive training in quantitative, qualitative, and rhetorical research methods. In addition to gaining a broad understanding of communication, graduates will develop expertise in an area (or multiple areas) of their choosing via course papers and a final thesis, professional project, or comprehensive exam. Our Master’s program prepares graduates for the workforce or Ph.D. programs.
This degree will:
Provide students with a broad understanding of communication as well as opportunities to specialize.
Prepare students for careers that highly value communication knowledge and skills.
Offer excellent opportunities for both research and teaching.
