The Environmental Equity Post-Bachelor’s Certificate (NRECE) Program is administered by the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice, College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The certificate will provide rigorous social science training and education in environmental and natural resources equity and inequality. Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a deep understanding of the social, human, and other drivers and consequences of environmental issues.

  2. Apply diverse perspectives, solutions, and methods to understand and address social-environmental issues.

  3. Explain the importance of approaches to addressing environmental issues that incorporate equity and justice.

Students who complete the program receive a certificate in Environmental Equity. Notification of this certificate appears on the student’s transcript.

Graduate students seeking to complete the Environmental Equity Certificate will work with their major faculty advisor, as well as with the Program Director, for support in understanding and meeting the requirements of the certificate.
