About this Degree
The MS in Environment and Society is an interdisciplinary master’s degree with both Plan A (thesis) and Plan B (paper/project) options. It allows for a personalized program of study built around a core of environmental social and behavioral science, with additional work drawn from the biophysical and geospatial sciences as appropriate to the student’s research and professional goals. Focus is on policy and management as well as on contribution to basic scientific understanding of socio-environmental systems and human-environment interactions.
