Corrections Leadership Development - Certificate

Criminal Justice is an area of major potential growth with adult learners in Utah and the surrounding states who may be seeking higher education to advance their careers. Leaders across the Department of Public Safety (DPS), Department of Corrections (DPC), Utah Sheriffs, and municipal departments have expressed interest in skills-based certificates that may be stacked in pursuit of an associate or bachelor's degree. In Utah, USU has an important opportunity to serve career professionals seeking to advance their careers via higher education.

The proposed certificate is based on a core of required coursework. This certificate is one in a series of stackable certificates which can part of the Criminal Justice Associates, Bachelor, or Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degrees. This certificate may be earned independently or stacked into the elective portion of the degree.
