About this Degree

Admission Requirements for this Program

Before a student can declare this minor, they must have a declared major with 30 completed credits and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in their declared major. Courses for the minor may not be taken on a pass/fail basis.

Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in Mechanical Engineering Minor required courses.

Students are ineligible for the minor and cannot register for the upper-division elective Mechanical Engineering Minor elective courses if they fail to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in the Mechanical Engineering Minor required courses or exceed the allowed one repeat.

If a student pursuing a Mechanical Engineering major becomes ineligible to graduate in that degree program, they do not qualify for the Mechanical Engineering minor.

Additionally, if a student becomes ineligible to take any of the required courses in the Mechanical Engineering major for any reason, they do not qualify for the Mechanical Engineering minor.

Students who previously qualified for admission to the Mechanical Engineering Professional Program and who left the program in good standing, can qualify for the minor even if the GPA for the minor required courses is less than 3.0.

Students must take a minimum of 3 credit hours (1 course) worth of Mechanical Engineering Minor elective courses.

A student who desires to pursue a minor in Mechanical Engineering must recognize that there may be prerequisites to required minor courses.
