About this Degree

The Outdoor Product Design and Development program prepares students for exciting careers in the sports, outdoor, and active industries by creating innovative, sustainable, and impactful products.

As the first bachelor’s degree of its kind, this hands-on program integrates industrial design, engineering, digital design, fashion, sustainability, marketing, business, and supply chain management—key elements in consumer product development.

Bringing products to market requires collaboration between designers, developers, product line managers, engineers, and others. After a series of foundational courses, students can specialize in one of three emphasis areas:

Design Emphasis: Master the design process, user research, idea visualization, and CAD modeling techniques to develop products conceptually and as producible prototypes.

Development Emphasis: Focus on project management, supply chain, and operations to turn concepts into market-ready products.

Product Line Management Emphasis: Learn leadership, market research, and product planning to manage costs, schedules, and successful product launches.

Admission Requirements for this Program
