About this Degree

The Bachelor of Science in Robotics, Automation, and Control Systems prepares students for careers in industrial automation, robotics, and controls engineering. Students develop technical expertise in automation systems, robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial networking, machine vision, and process improvement while building skills in data analysis, project management, and leadership.

A unique feature of this degree is its stackable pathway from Utah Technical Colleges to Utah State University. Students apply up to 50 credits from the Automation Technology Certificate and the Control Systems and Robotics Certificate (earned through a technical college) toward the bachelor’s degree offered by USU, creating an efficient pathway from technical training to advanced career opportunities. Once these certificates are applied, the USU portion of this program can be completed online through Utah State University, providing flexibility for both traditional students and working professionals. If a student enrolls without these certificates as awarded by a Utah technical college, courses fulfilling those requirements are offered at the USU Price campus, but no certificate will be awarded.
