About this Degree

The MS in Recreation Resource Management prepares recreation professionals to manage outdoor natural settings for human recreation. These settings can include public forests and rangelands, state and national parks, and wilderness areas—among others. Foundation in the social and behavioral sciences is combined with basic ecological understanding to facilitate policy and management of both land resources and the people who visit. The personalized program of study includes both Plan A (thesis) and Plan B (paper/project) options. For additional degree information, see the program page on the Department of Environment and Society website. Students may complete the Graduate Specialization in Climate Adaptation Science as a part of this degree.
