About this Degree
Students pursuing the BA receive a degree in general theatre arts. This is a four-year program designed for students who want a more comprehensive liberal arts background in theatre. This emphasis prepares students for graduate study and is also appropriate for those entering the field of stage directing. This program provides students with the flexibility to pursue an additional major. The BA degree requires foreign language training and the completion of additional related study courses.
Students must apply for the Bachelor of Arts degree program as part of their separate application to the department and have an interview with the BA faculty. Acceptance is competitive and not guaranteed.

The highest math requirement for this degree is the Quantitative Literacy (QL) of the student’s choice.
Admission Requirements for this Program
Students are considered for admission to the department and BA degree program through application referral from USU Admissions and submission of supporting materials to the department https://artsci.usu.edu/theatre-arts/areas-of-study/theatre-arts-ba.
Acceptance is not guaranteed.
Transfer students must verify transfer credit acceptance prior to application to USU.
Major Expectations: Students are expected to develop proper attitudes, habits, work standards and professionalism to move on to graduate studies or directly into the professional world of theatre. Students are expected to assist with all department productions and be available to accept any production assignment.
Minimum Overall GPA for Admission: 2.75
