About this Degree
The School of Teacher Education and Leadership (TEAL) offers a Master in Elementary Teaching (MET) degree that is designed for persons seeking educator licensing following a previous undergraduate degree. The MET (Plan C) degree is available for students both at the Logan campus and at Statewide Campuses. The basic elements of the MET coursework option include completion of 33 credits in an approved program of study. An additional 30 credits of coursework may be necessary to meet licensure requirements of the Utah State Board of Education (USBE).
This program is specifically designed to provide an avenue for education degree seekers and job changers to become licensed educators. Upon degree completion, USU will be able to recommend licensure.
This program leads to a recommendation for teaching licensure from USU. However, licensure is granted by the Utah State Board of Education.
For additional admission information, including contact information, visit the School of Teacher Education & Leadership MET website.
