About this Degree
The foundational role of the web across all businesses and organizations provides an advantage for individuals from any background or program who have basic web programming and design skills. The Web Development Certificate is an option that can significantly enhance any resume and complement any prior degree, providing hands-on practical experience in HTML, CSS, Python, and JavaScript, along with web/database interfaces, web apps, application programming interfaces (APIs), and other web-related tools. These skills are consistently identified among the most critical and marketable in job postings related to all industries and professions, and the Web Development Certificate program allows students to build them in as little as one to two semesters.
Careers in information systems and data technologies are multidisciplinary and require teamwork, critical thinking, and communication. Well-qualified applicants are encouraged to apply from any background in which they have developed and applied these skills. Potential applicants with little or no prior technical experience may first consider the program program.
Note that the Web Development Certificate can be completed on its own, or it can be stacked with any one of the other certificates offered by the Department of Data Analytics & Information Systems to meet the requirements of the program degree program.
