About this Degree

A major in Health Science prepares students to become professionals who aid individuals, groups, and communities to maintain or improve their health status. Students gain a strong foundation in biological science and health promotion content.

This major is for students who plan to pursue advanced medical training; work in a public health, clinical, private, worksite, non-profit, or other health/medical-related setting; or are still exploring career options in those settings. In addition to a core of courses focused on providing the acquisition of skills and competencies in health promotion, this program gives students maximum flexibility to tailor coursework to meet their specific postgraduate and career goals.
