About this Degree

The Engineering Foundations Certificate offers students—both aspiring engineers and those in other disciplines—an opportunity to develop a strong understanding of core engineering principles. Through a coherent sequence of first-year courses, students gain the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in sophomore-level engineering coursework or to enhance their perspective in other professional fields. Admission Requirements for this Program

New Freshman and Transfer Students (from other institutions or other USU programs)

  • Admitted to USU in Good Standing

New Freshman:

  • 2.8 High School GPA or higher

  • 20 ACT or 1030 SAT or higher
