Course Learning Outcomes
1. Identify anatomical structures of the equine lower limb and describe their functions in locomotion and weight-bearing.
2. Recognize and describe the correct use of common farrier tools and explain their applications in hoof care and maintenance.
3. Evaluate hoof balance and discuss the principles influencing soundness and performance.
4. Assess lameness in horses using an established lameness scale and discuss potential causes of common lower limb issues.
5. Demonstrate safe and effective handling techniques when lifting limbs, restraining horses, and removing shoes under supervision.
